In fact, women and girls have mostly been confined in areas requiring little competencies, where wages are the lowest and job security is minimal.
In cities, as is the case in Mopti, the focus was on income-generating activities. In the scientific and technical fields that offer more opportunities on the labour and more stable income market, girls and women are a very small minority.
In the Mopti region, the illiteracy rate reached 80% of women. The education network has been a priority for our
